Annekathrin Schacht studied Psychology at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (HUB). After receiving her PhD from HUB in 2008, she worked as Visiting Professor of Psychology of Motivation and Emotion at the University of Potsdam and of Cognitive Neuroscience at HUB. Schacht’s main research interests focus on the interplay of cognition, motivation, and emotion in several domains of human information processing, including faces and written and spoken language. In 2009, her scientific work has been awarded the Prize of the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities for the Support of Young Scholars. In winter 2010, she followed an invitation to a three-month Visiting Professorship at the Swiss Center of Affective Sciences in Geneva, Switzerland.

Schacht is Professor of Affective Neuroscience and Psychophysiology at Institute of Psychology.
